About me

Clinical Hypnotherapist

My name is Yvonne and I’m originally from London, brought up in the North East and having lived and worked all across the UK, I have now settled in Nottinghamshire. I have worked in various corporate and government establishments over the past 25 years.  During this time I have worked within Human Resources (HR) departments and seen first hand the effects anxiety, stress, depression, substance abuse and other ailments can have on people.

Hypnotherapy helps break past mental barriers and helps you to make the changes in your subconscious that will have an effect on the way you think, feel and behave.

I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist Practitioner registered and accredited with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. Also trained in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Mental Health First Aid, Psychological First Aid, Suicide Awareness, Wellbeing and Resilience at Work, Sleep Deprivation and Helping Young People Manage Low Mood and Depression. I pride myself on being up to date with current principles and continue to self-develop through ongoing training.

As a member of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), I continue to update my CPD within the HR arena also. I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate, allowing me to work with children and vulnerable adults.

What I can do for you…

Advantages of Hypnotherapy…

Hypnotherapy can help treat you without the need for invasive therapies or additional medications, it is considered a safe treatment option.

Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy and is used to enhance an overall sense of well-being, lift mood, and boost feelings of hopefulness.

Treatment is long-lasting, and relapse likelihood is low.
The hypnotic state allows you to be more open to suggestion and has science-backed evidence.

Hypnotherapy is not mind-control or brainwashing. I cannot make you do something embarrassing or something that you do not want to do.

Some Health Insurance companies will pay towards the cost of your therapy (but please check beforehand).

Sessions usually last an hour or two, so they do not take up significant time. Some issues can be dealt with in as little as one session.

Anxiety & Panic Attacks

Anxiety can be that feeling of unease, that feeling in your stomach, worry or fear of something that’s going to happen, and can be defined as:

F = Future

E = Events

A = Appearing

R = Real

Suffering from anxiety is a perfectly natural reaction and everyone experiences it at certain times in some situations.

Sometimes these feelings of anxiety can be overwhelming or out of proportion to the situation and start affecting your life in different ways.

It can make it difficult to rest, sleep, fulfil the smallest of tasks.

There is a solution, hypnotherapy can reduce the feelings of anxiety.

Insomnia

Sleep problems can affect everyone at certain points in our lives and usually sort themselves out naturally.

However, if you have had trouble trying to sleep for over a month and it affects your daily routine and is making it hard to cope you could benefit from hypnotherapy.

The most common causes for insomnia include stress, worry, depression, physical illness and even irregular shift patterns.

Using hypnotherapy we can work together to address any underlying issues and then work with your subconscious to improve your sleeping pattern.

Phobias

Did you know that we are born with only two fears? Loud noises and falling, all other fears and phobias are learned behaviours.

Fear is a survival instinct and a completely natural and healthy response to danger, as humans we are designed to avoid and escape threatening situations.

Phobias are more intense than fears, first I need to distinguish if you have a fear or a phobia and then I can treat you accordingly.

Because they exist in our subconscious, the aim of hypnotherapy is to change the way you respond to your fear or phobia.

Some fears and phobias can become debilitating and have an effect on our daily lives, hypnotherapy can help treat fears and phobias, and for many people it has been a helpful tool.

Weight Loss

The truth is weight loss has very little to do with what we eat, it is all down to the relationship you have with food. Hypnotherapy lets me reprogram your own thoughts so that when you are satisfied you will stop eating, sounds simple doesn’t it?

Emotional eating is one of the major reasons people over eat. Working with you to address the core issues at the root of why you’re over eating can improve your eating habits, body image and ultimately lose weight.

Anyone who has struggled sticking to a diet or exercise program should try hypnotherapy because we reprogram your negative habits.

Your subconscious is where your emotions, habits and addictions are stored. Hypnotherapy talks straight to your subconscious to make the changes required to help in weight loss.

Addictions

Addiction comes in many forms; alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, cigarettes, eating disorders, workaholic, shopping, gaming, internet, exercise, sugar, food, risk-taking, and there are many others.

Having any addiction can affect both your relationships and your career, especially if your addiction involves spending money. Getting help early can make a difference to how long it will take to treat your addiction, but no matter how long you have had your addiction hypnotherapy can work once you have made the decision to stop.

Hypnotherapy can help you to regain control of your choices by breaking habits, increasing willpower and dealing with emotional issues connected to your specific addiction.

Sports Performance

Raise your game with hypnotherapy.  Improving your attitude, focus and ability to perform at the top of your game, not just in sport but in almost any area of your life.  Hypnosis can help you achieve your goals complimenting your physical training regime with mental focus, concentration and visualisation.

Being successful in any field requires high levels of physical fitness and mental ability.  Many top sports people have used a hypnotherapist (also referred to as a Sports Psychologist or Mind Coach) to help them win, including; Andre Agassi, Tiger Woods, Mohammed Ali, Nigel Benn, Michael Jorden, Billie Jean King, and there are many others.

Change your attitude and beliefs, we can work together to make you better.
